Our Stone Restoration Process

At Milestone Stonecare, we specialize in professional stone restoration using a proven, detail-oriented process. From marble and travertine to granite, limestone, terrazzo, and specialty stone, our methods are tailored to each surface to ensure long-lasting results without damage. Below is an overview of our stone restoration process and what you can expect when working with our team.

Our PROCESS

01

Preparation

Every restoration begins with proper surface protection. We carefully protect surrounding areas using professional masking materials, tarps, and runners to ensure adjacent surfaces remain clean and undisturbed throughout the process.

02

Cleaning

We tailor our cleaning process to each site using stone-safe, environmentally responsible solutions whenever possible. Our process includes machine cleaning, detailed grout and edge work, and commercial wet vacuum extraction, followed by a neutralizing rinse to leave surfaces clean and balanced.

03

Honing & Resurfacing

Honing and resurfacing correct surface imperfections such as scratches, wear patterns, lippage, and uneven edges. Using professional diamond abrasives, we refine the stone’s surface to restore a smooth, consistent finish appropriate for the material.

04

Polishing

After surface correction, we polish the stone using professional-grade diamond abrasives and polishing compounds. This step enhances the stone’s natural appearance, producing a smooth, refined finish suited to each specific material.

05

Sealing

Stone and grout are naturally porous and benefit from proper sealing to protect against staining and moisture. We apply high-quality penetrating sealers or enhancing sealers depending on the stone type, location, and desired finish, ensuring long-term protection without altering the stone’s character.
